Privacy Policy
aatm is a Vedic astrology companion for Android and iPhone, with a website at aatm.ai. This policy says, in plain language, what data aatm holds, why, who helps process it, and what control you have. The short version: your data exists to read your own chart back to you, it is never sold, there are no ads, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
What we collect
What you give us directly
- Your name (as entered at onboarding), and the birth details you enter: date of birth, time of birth (or a time window if you are unsure), and place of birth. Place is what you type, never your device's location. aatm has no access to your device location.
- Your conversations with aatm (the Ask thread), including decisions you ask aatm to hold, reflections and practice entries you write, and the verifications or corrections you give ("that landed", "not really", and similar).
- Other things you choose to record: answers about years and dates you lived, readings and moments you save, and anything you tell aatm that another astrologer said about your chart.
- If you add a person to read a relationship: the name, relation, and birth details (date, time and place) you enter for them. aatm keeps these, and the chart computed from them, on your account until you remove that person or delete your account. This is your private lens only. The person is never notified, never contacted, and never looked up anywhere; we store only what you typed.
- If you sign in: the email of your Google or Apple account (see Where it lives). Signing in is optional; you can start reading without an account.
What is collected automatically
- App interaction analytics (which screens are used, feature events such as a screenshot being taken on a screen; never the screenshot itself) via Google Firebase Analytics. On Android this is associated with a device identifier (the Android advertising ID). On iPhone, aatm does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites. Used only to understand and improve the product. We show no ads.
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and network performance timings via Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring, to find and fix failures and slowness.
- Your device's time zone, so that "today" in aatm matches where you are.
Voice dictation
If you tap the microphone to dictate a question, aatm listens only while you are dictating. The audio may be turned into text on your device, or sent to Meta's speech-to-text service to turn it into text. aatm does not store the audio or send it to our servers. The text fills the message field, and it is sent only when you choose to send your message.
What stays on your phone
aatm never reads your photos. It only adds a share card to your photo library when you tap download.
On the website, aatm.ai
The website collects very little, and nothing unless you act.
Early access. If you leave your email to hear when aatm opens, we keep two things: your email address and the time you left it. We use your email for one thing: to write to you once, when aatm is ready. We never add it to a newsletter, never share it, and never use it for ads. After that one email has gone, we delete your address within 30 days. To remove it sooner, write to hello@aatm.ai from that address and we will delete it. Your email on this list is not linked to an aatm account.
Counts. When someone taps a button to get aatm, leaves an email, or taps a store link, the site adds one to a count. Each count notes whether aatm is open yet and the tags of the link that brought them. It keeps no IP address, no device details, and nothing else that could say who tapped.
No cookies. The website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
The voices. The characters' voices on the site are recordings made with AI. Playing one sends nothing about you.
Serving the site. Cloudflare runs the website. Like any web server, it sees your IP address and browser details in order to send you the pages, and to stop abuse of the email form, such as many sign ups from one address. aatm does not keep these with your email or with the counts.
What we do with it
Your birth details are used to compute your chart and its time periods. Your conversations and verifications are used to compose your readings, your record, and the continuity that makes aatm remember what you told it. Aggregated, de-identified usage data helps us improve the product. That is the whole list.
Specifically, we do not: sell or rent your data to anyone; show advertising; use your data to train models shared outside your own account's experience; or contact anyone you add to the app.
AI that writes your readings
To write your readings, aatm sends your birth details, your chart, what you write in aatm, and the birth details of people you add to two AI companies: Anthropic, who make Claude, and OpenRouter, which passes each request to the company that runs the AI model. aatm sends it only to write your readings. You can turn this off any time in the app: Settings, then Readings written by AI.
aatm asks before any of this is sent. If you do not agree, or turn the switch off later, nothing new goes to these companies, and aatm cannot write new readings. Readings already written stay readable.
Where it lives and how it moves
Your data is stored on our servers, hosted by Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India, and transmitted only over encrypted connections (HTTPS; cleartext traffic is disabled in the app). Your sign-in email is stored encrypted. The AI companies above, and Meta's speech-to-text service, may process requests outside India. The early-access list is stored by Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India, with the rest of aatm's data. The anonymous website counts are stored by Cloudflare.
Sign-in is through Google or Apple. We receive your email for sign-in and support. When you sign in, aatm sends a confirmation email to that address.
Who else helps run aatm
Besides the AI companies above, these service providers process data on our behalf, only to run aatm:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, the database, server logs, and sending aatm's emails.
- Google: sign-in (Firebase Authentication), analytics, crash and performance reports (Firebase), and birth place search (Google Places, which receives the place text you type while searching).
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, if you choose it.
- Meta: speech-to-text for voice dictation, which receives the audio while you dictate (see Voice dictation).
- New Relic and Sentry: server performance and error monitoring, so we can see when something breaks.
- Cloudflare: runs the website aatm.ai and keeps the anonymous website counts.
Your controls
- Export.
- Settings › What aatm keeps › Export everything gives you a file with everything aatm holds about you: your profile, birth details, chart, readings, conversations, decisions, verifications, reflections and practice entries, saved moments, and any people you added. Usage analytics are not included.
- Delete.
- Settings › Delete everything removes your data, including your sign-in record. Deletion is immediate and total on our side. You can also request deletion without the app at this page.
- Early access.
- Write to hello@aatm.ai from the address you left, and we delete it.
- AI.
- Settings › Readings written by AI turns off sending to the AI companies at any time.
- Quiet.
- aatm only initiates contact through in-app check-ins you have consented to, at a cadence you chose (Settings › How often you hear from me), and you can turn that off entirely. There are no push notifications.
- Sharing.
- aatm shares nothing on your behalf. If you share a card or an invite link, it goes only where you send it. If you add the aatm home-screen widget, it shows the day's line on your home screen.

What aatm is not
aatm offers orientation, not outcomes. It is not a substitute for medical, legal, or financial advice, and nothing in it should be treated as any of those.
Children
aatm is intended for users 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will say so plainly. The current version always lives at this URL.
